St Davids Polo and Racing Club are delighted to announce they will be bringing the exciting game of Arena Polo to the Show Ground at Monmonth on August Bank Holiday Monday the 30th August 2010.
This comparatively new game was first introduced to the UK approx 15 years ago, as a winter game played indoors, however it has developed to become a very popular all year game for players and spectators alike and is now played to a very high standard at all established Polo Clubs.
The game is played within a boarded area !00m x 50m with three players on each side over four Chukkas. Players are allocated handicaps ranging from 0-10, approved by the Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) its governing body.
The game is very fast,skilful and exciting and due to the close proximity of the play to the spectators it can only be described as an "adrenalin rush".
We shall be introducing you to some of the finest professional arena polo players in this country and South America and we promise you an exciting day of Polo,fun and glamour in a beautiful show ground setting.
The Event will commence at 12 noon for Hospitality Guests, 1pm for Polo Boxes and 1.30 for Picnic parking.
We will be having a post match party within the Hospitality Pavilion after the match presentation, featuring the UKs favourite tribute Band "The Rolling Clones" and guest DJ "Rich and Famous".
All guests purchasing the Hospitality Package and Polo Box badges will be allowed admission to the post match party on production of their day badge. A licensed bar will be available to close at 10pm.
